Today was my first-time setting foot on the Phoenix College campus. Last fall was my first semester at PC and due to a very untimely spontaneous pneumothorax (collapsed lung), I was forced to make a last-minute change to online classes this past semester. While I loved the convenience of online classes, I am very glad to be taking in-person classes this semester. It makes the college experience feel more “real.” I met with Josh this morning to discuss and start planning my Authentic Experience for the TRAIN program. I had the chance to see the lab and it all felt surreal. If a year ago you told me I would have the chance to do a research project in a laboratory, I would not have believed you. Yet, thanks to this program, here we are! I am thrilled about this opportunity and looking forward to everything this semester has in store for me.
