Week 10

This week we continued to collect ECG data from the Aloe plants outside the lab as well as the Tomato plants inside the foyer of the Dalby building. We have been running into issues when trying to export the data from the LabQuest into LoggerPro on the laptop so this week we tried connecting the LabQuest to the laptop and recording the data live as the ECG ran. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue and once again, we are getting different data than the readings we get on the LabQuest. This is a bit frustrating, but we are going to keep at it and hopefully get things figured out. For now, we are recording the min/max readings manually. But the more data we can collect, the better. So next week we will keep tinkering with things and hopefully get this figured out.

This week I continued testing the aloe plants with the ECG. Unfortunately, we are still running into issues exporting the data into logger pro. The data we get in logger pro does not correlate to the readings we get in the ECG. This presents a problem as we try to collect data to analyze for our research. Next week, we are going to try connecting the ECG to the laptop in hopes of being able to capture the data live as we take the ECG readings. If that does not work, we are going to have to rethink how we collect data moving forward.

Week 8

This spring break has not been too much of a break. Things definitely felt a bit overwhelming during midterms week with class assignments, midterm exams as well as things that came up outside of school all piling up during that week. Thankfully I made it to the halfway mark with high grades in all of my classes. I am putting my time during spring break to good use and have been working ahead in all of my classes. I am hoping this will set me up for a successful finish to the semester. I also started looking at classes for next semester and began planning out my schedule for next semester. I have also been using this time to apply for scholarships for next year. Overall, I am pretty happy with my use of time over spring break and now looking forward to getting back into class and the lab on Monday.
